Please help with the K-Link 444.850 Battery Fundraiser!

Details:  The standby battery that served us well for the last 9 years has given up.  The battery was graciously donated by Kansas Cellular in 1998.  It was a C&D Liberty series, maintenance free 100 amp-hour battery made specifically for standby power applications such as cell sites or repeaters.

As you may be aware, the importance of having this battery in place is that it supplies emergency power to the 444.850 repeater which is the hub of the entire K-Link repeater system.  Without the battery, a simple power failure will render the entire link system inoperational.  Not a good thing to happen during bad weather or in an emergency!

Update:

The new battery is installed.  We purchased a GNB Marathon 12V155FT, rated at 150 amp-hours.  As of this update, we still need about $130 donated to cover the cost of this battery.  You may donate using a check, credit card, or via PayPal.  Credit card and PayPal payments are accepted on the main page in the menu to the left.  You may donate any amount you wish.

You may make checks payable to Justin Reed and address them to:

In addition to the standby battery, we also have a Coleman 4500 watt gasoline generator that can be used to keep the battery charged during extended outages.  (The generator ran from 7am December 11 to 8pm December 17 during the ice storm outage)

Thank you for your past and present support!
