The new battery is installed.  We purchased a GNB Marathon 12V155FT, rated at 150 amp-hours.   

 

In addition to the standby battery, we also have a Coleman 4500 watt gasoline generator that can be used to keep the battery charged during extended outages.  (The generator ran from 7am December 11 to 8pm December 17 2007 during the ice storm outage)
